Gents, a nice collared shirt and well-fitted trousers will do the trick, while ladies can opt for a stylish dress or chic separates. Need a last-minute outfit? Gasworks Plaza in nearby Newstead has some great boutiques for a quick fashion fix. You’ll be meeting singles not just from Bowen Hills, but also from neighboring Fortitude Valley and New Farm. How It Works
Here’s how our speed dating social works: Upon arrival, you’ll receive a name card and scan a QR code to access our Matching App 4.0. This app shows you a list of all attendees, helping you put names to faces. After some initial mingling at the bar, ladies take their seats while our hosts rotate the men every 5 minutes. You’ll enjoy 12 of these mini-dates, typically running from 7 to 9 PM. During each date, you can choose to ‘Match’ or ‘Friend’ directly from your phone.
At 8 AM the next day, you’ll receive your matches’ contact details – but only for those who’ve also selected you. Pro tip: Keep an open mind and give everyone a fair chance! We usually book 40 attendees, with an equal split between men and women, ensuring a balanced experience for all. Compared to the endless swiping on Tinder or crafting the perfect eHarmony profile, our events offer that irreplaceable face-to-face chemistry that dating apps just can’t replicate.

Owned by local restaurateur Marco Gianni, Bar Gusto brings a touch of Italian flair to the Brisbane dating scene. Its sleek interior, featuring exposed brick walls and ambient lighting, creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for our speed dating events.
The spacious layout allows for comfortable one-on-one interactions, while the central bar area provides a great spot for pre-event mingling. Don’t miss trying their signature cocktail, the Gusto Spritz – it’s a great conversation starter! Of course, we always book equal 50:50 ratios. That’s why there’s a limited amount of both Male/Female tickets

If you give us minimum 7 days warning before an event, by our email matches@speeddatingsocial.com (not social media comments or DM requests) and if it’s agreed upon, then we can transfer your ticket to another posted event (not an untimed credit) of the same age range.
Yes, if you can’t make it you can transfer your ticket to a friend, providing they are the same gender and age range that you booked for.
On the night simply scan into our QR Code to access our Matching App 4.0. From there just enter that nights Event Code, your starting table number, mobile number, name and email. From there you’ll be texted and emailed a joining link. Click that link – you’ll then be able to see/ select anyone you like directly though your phone.
All matches are sent at 8am the following day. Even if you don’t select someone, you’ll still receive their contact their details if they selected you
