How It Works
The evening unfolds like a well-choreographed dance: you’ll arrive at 7pm, receive your name badge and quick rundown of our Matching App 4.0 (tech that actually works, unlike your ex’s promises). Ladies take their seats while gentlemen rotate – you’ll have exactly five minutes for each of your 12 mini-dates, with our cheeky conversation cards as backup if things get awkward. At 8pm, we’ll break for an intermission where you can grab another drink and strategize your second-half approach. Unlike dating apps where you might chat for weeks without meeting, here you’ll know instantly if there’s chemistry – no more being catfished or ghosted! Each of our events has exactly 40 attendees (20 men, 20 women) ensuring nobody gets left without matches. After the event, you’ll select your favorites on our app, and at 8am the next morning, we’ll send you the contact details of anyone who picked you too – that butterflies-in-stomach moment when you see mutual matches is worth the price of admission alone!

Our strict equal ratio policy ensures a balanced experience – we’ve all been to those awkward events with 15 women and 3 men, and nobody deserves that! Tickets for this Woolloongabba event are $29.90 for early birds and $34.90 for last-minute decision-makers (we get it, commitment is scary). While we don’t offer refunds, we can transfer your ticket to another event if your plans change – just email matches@speeddatingsocial.com at least 48 hours before showtime.

The Mix Bar isn’t just another Brisbane venue – it’s a converted 1920s wool store that still features the original exposed brick walls and timber beams, now complemented by contemporary lighting and plush velvet seating. Family-owned by the Catanzaro brothers since 2018, this Woolloongabba gem has become a local institution for its innovative cocktail menu and unpretentious vibe. The private mezzanine level where we host our events offers the perfect balance of intimacy and space, with acoustic treatments that make conversation easy despite the buzzing atmosphere. Ask their mixologist for “The Match Maker” – a signature spiced rum concoction with hints of passionfruit and lime that’s exclusive to our events and might just give you the liquid courage to be your most charming self. Speed dating at The Mix feels different from other venues – maybe it’s the flattering lighting, the perfectly spaced tables, or the fact that you can see the Story Bridge twinkling through the windows. requests) and if it’s agreed upon, then we can transfer your ticket to another

Yes, if you can’t make it you can transfer your ticket to a friend, providing they are the same gender and age range that you booked for.
On the night simply scan into our QR Code to access our Matching App 4.0. From there just enter that nights Event Code, your starting table number, mobile number, name and email. From there you’ll be texted and emailed a joining link. Click that link – you’ll then be able to see/ select anyone you like directly though your phone.
All matches are sent at 8am the following day. Even if you don’t select someone, you’ll still receive their contact their details if they selected you
